Outspoken founder of Merrell Strategy and the Executive Chair for the HONR Network, public relations and crisis management expert, Alexandrea Merrell has built a reputation as a “fixer” and advocate for those dealing with online abuse. 

Specializing in protecting survivors and the family members of victims of mass casualty incidents and high-profile crimes, as well as both celebrities and civilians suffering stalking, “canceling,” bullying, defamation, harassment, revenge porn, and hate campaigns, Alex focuses on protecting the civil rights of victims violated on the internet, educating people as to their rights and responsibilities online, and advocating for a safer online environment for all.  

Herself the victim of a horrific, anonymous, fourteen-year-long, cyber-stalking campaign initiated by an obsessed, mentally unstable stranger (you can read more about her incredible story here), she has spent more than a decade helping people who are terrorized, tormented, and harassed online.

Misinformation about online rights, an often apathetic response from social media providers and officials, and fear and humiliation prevent people from protecting and defending themselves from online abuse.

Having experienced this first hand, and after helping countless victims to rebuild their lives after online victimization, I am really passionate about teaching people what I call the “4C’s of Personal Crisis Management;” how to COMPARTMENTALIZE the attacks, COPE with the emotions, COMBAT the aggressor, and regain CONTROL over your life, your reputation, and your brand.”

Today, in addition to providing media commentary on the online aftermath of high profile crimes and mass casualty incidents, conspiracy theory, defamation cases, legal limitations to free speech, and the emotional and psychological toll of online abuse, Alex works with social media providers and non-profit organizations to provide better protections online.
